HSE Executive [Olufoam & Old warehouse - Akure]

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HSE Officer to join our team at our cocoa warehouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and compliance procedures.

Job Details

Responsibilities

1. Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits to identify hazards and implement controls.
2. Implement HSE policies and procedures for the cocoa warehouse and related activities.
3. Conduct toolbox, safety awareness and engagements, HSE training programs for employees.
4. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
5. Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics.
6. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g. OSHA, ISO 45001,ISO14001)
7. Collaborate with operations team to ensure HSE considerations are integrated to warehouse operations.
8. Conduct risk assessments for cocoa processing and storage activities.
9. Implement emergency response plans (e.g. fire, First aid, Spill etc.)
10. Ensure proper maintenance of HSE equipment and facilities.
11. Coordinate with regulatory bodies and authorities (OSEPA, FMenv, NESREA , Fire Service etc)
12. Monitor and enforce PPE usage and compliance. Perform PPE compliance audits. 
13. Investigate and address employee HSE concerns and suggestions
14. Update HSE documentation and records where applicable.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Degree in Science, Engineering or environmental related courses.
• HSE certification (HSE Level 3 Minimum, NEBOSH is added advantage).
• 3+ years of experience in HSE role, preferably in warehouse or Logistics or manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of HSE regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Specific Requirements for Cocoa Warehouse: Ability to coordinate third party labors.
