Job Summary

The Trading Analyst supports the trading team in executing profitable oil and gas transactions by providing in-depth market analysis, managing trading data, and ensuring operational and financial alignment. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of hands-on experience in oil trading operations, market analytics, and trading support within the downstream sector.

Core Responsibilities

Knowledge Requirements

Monitor and analyze global and local oil market trends, price movements, and economic indicators to support trading decisions.
Generate market intelligence reports and trading performance dashboards to guide strategic trade execution.
Collaborate with traders to prepare pre-deal evaluations, pricing models, and post-trade performance analysis.
Support in sourcing and negotiating trade deals by preparing data-driven insights and forecasts.
Track and reconcile daily trading positions, P&L, and exposure across various trading desks.
Work with operations and logistics teams to ensure timely product delivery and accurate documentation.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements affecting oil trade (local and international).
Assist in contract management, including reviewing pricing terms and ensuring adherence to trade agreements.
Provide support in managing Letters of Credit, shipping documentation, and trade finance structures.
Liaise with finance, legal, and risk teams to ensure accurate trade booking, settlement, and risk controls.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in oil trading or trading analytics within the oil and gas industry (preferably downstream).
Hands-on experience with trading platforms, Excel, and analytical tools.
Familiarity with pricing mechanisms, trading contracts, and supply chain operations.

Educational Requirements	Skill Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Certifications in oil trading, commodities, or financial analysis are an added advantage.	Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail. Good understanding of crude and refined products trading dynamics. Excellent communication, reporting, and collaboration abilities. High level of integrity and ability to manage sensitive market data.
